On an unusually warm winter day in January 2018, I met up with Meagan and Alex at Manassas Battlefield for their engagement shoot. I’ve known Alex for a few years now through my husband, Andrew, but this was the first time I really got the chance to meet Meagan. (She is an absolute joy to be around, let me tell you). They had only been together a few months prior to getting engaged, but after spending an hour and a half with them it felt like they had been together for years! There was the kind of joy and comfort you find between couples who really get to experience life together, and their little slice of life was indicative of the decades of happiness and contentment to come.
We hoped for sunshine and ended up with clouds, but that didn’t stop us! Alex, a proud Scot, brought a blanket with his clan’s official tartan on it and it was a special way to celebrate and honor heritage and family. Alex also had Meagan’s engagement ring custom made to feature two Celtic trinity knots supporting the diamond–a deeply spiritual symbol that represents no beginning or end, but eternity in loyalty, friendship, happiness, and love. Enjoy a few of my favorites from this session below!
Lauren, this is so beautifully written! It took me back to the day of the shoot and how much fun we had with you. You captured our love so much better than I ever thought anybody possibly could. Thank you so much for these incredible photos that we now have all over our house.
