Juhi, Caleb & I woke up bright and early for a sunrise engagement shoot at Georgetown Waterfront Park, and it was SO WORTH IT. Despite the 6am meeting time, Caleb and Juhi came with coffee in their hands and smiles on their faces and were met with the most gorgeous lighting the entire time!
Juhi and Caleb met in law school here in Washington D.C. and were in the same cohort for much of their graduate studies. From Day 1 there was this sense of intentionality behind their relationship. They engaged in deep conversations about their studies and politics, and continually strived to act with patience, kindness, and humility towards each other. As we were preparing for the shoot, the first thing Juhi did was ask Caleb how he was doing, and honestly it was so refreshing to witness how other-regarding these two are. I know I could learn a thing or two from them!
They plan to have a traditional ceremony, and I was THRILLED with the opportunity to capture the breathtaking details of their clothing. I mean, look at that embroidery! And equally breathtaking was her engagement ring! Caleb described how Juhi received her name, which means “white flower” in Urdu, and specifically designed her ring as a reflection and symbol of her name. And so, her gorgeous ring looks like a little white flower!
I was privileged to be the one to capture this exciting season in their lives, and to get to know them through their engagement session! Enjoy seeing some of their precious moments from Saturday morning in Georgetown!
