Don’t think I forgot about the grooms and what they should have in their getting ready room. Yes, grooms need items too! Grooms are a little different than brides for a few reasons. Many grooms and their groomsmen golf the morning of their wedding or do some activity to prepare for the day. They’re getting ready location must be equipped to shower if needed, places to hang their tuxedos so they don’t wrinkle, and a place to sit down and relax before the festivities.
Here are a few things we suggest you have in your groom getting ready room.
A must-have is food, whether a deli tray to make sandwiches or just some small snacks. You always want everyone to be full before the ceremony. Even if they are only in their getting ready area for an hour or two, make sure there is something. I also suggest you have water and sodas for hydration (not just beer!)
Most likely, the guys are hanging out and doing something the morning of that would require a shower. I suggest putting together a small basket of travel-sized shampoos, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and mouthwash. These essentials will help so everyone won’t have to bring their own.
Cards are an excellent option for the groom and groomsmen to play when they are waiting to get ready; they are relaxing and have a good time together.
