Elizabeth and Matt’s engagement session during Washington DC’s cherry blossom season was nothing short of magical. The couple chose the Tidal Basin as the first location for their shoot, and the cherry blossom trees served as the perfect backdrop for their romantic photos. The pink and white petals of the trees created a dreamy atmosphere that perfectly captured the couple’s love and affection for each other.
The session began in the early morning hours, just as the sun was beginning to rise. The soft light cast a warm glow on Elizabeth and Matt, and the gentle breeze rustled the cherry blossom branches, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The couple strolled hand in hand along the Tidal Basin, pausing to take in the breathtaking views and stopping at various points to capture intimate moments between them.
As the morning progressed, more and more people began to arrive at the Tidal Basin to admire the cherry blossoms. Nevertheless we expertly navigated the crowds, capturing stunning shots of the couple against the vibrant blooms.
For the second half of the session we met up at their terraced home in Georgetown. It was serendipity that their neighbor had another cherry tree in *perfect* lighting. Some portraits with their pup and a stroll around their neighborhood concluded the session.
Their engagement portraits during Washington DC’s cherry blossom season was truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and the photos will serve as a timeless reminder of the couple’s love and the beauty of the cherry blossoms.
