I am thrilled to share some images from a recent styled shoot I photographed at Turkey Trac Farms! It was my first styled shoot experience, and I can honestly say that all of the vendors from our sweet host to the details and other photographers made it such an enjoyable and exciting afternoon!
Turkey Trac Farms is a charming and romantic venue in southern New Jersey, and I think if I lived closer to it I would figure out some kind of event I could have there. It’s one of those places that immediately seems rather inconspicuous, but this venue is so much more than just the twinkle lights adorning the walls of the rustic barn and breezeway. As you walk through the barn and onto the grounds you become captivated by the rows and rows of wildflowers in front of you, the old dusty chevy truck sitting off to the side, the light bouncing through the leaves in the trees, and in the distance: none other than a Christmas tree farm. It’s a place that has a little something for everyone, and even though I spent about three hours walking around on the relatively small property, I somehow wish I could have had more time.
Courtney Simpson Photography organized this styled shoot, and she was super considerate and made sure that every photographer had enough time and space to get all of the images they needed. The assistant and event coordinators at Devoted Wolf Events were frequently asking if we needed anything throughout the day, which I’m sure is a testament to the kind of attention and care they must give to all of their event clients. There were about 10 photographers total present, and we were all so mindful and caring toward each other. Tons of tips and tricks were flying around from new and old photographers alike and we ended up sharing instagram handles and business information by the end of the afternoon. I ended up learning so much from these fellow photogs and left with this profound sense of community, which is crazy since many of them were Jersey residents and I was coming from a couple of hours away! I know that sometimes styled shoots can become nightmarish and stressful, but this one was definitely an absolute dream and one I’ll remember fondly for years to come.
