Alyssa & Luke Classic and Timeless Tudor Place Wedding

Alyssa and Luke had a joyful and tearful ceremony at Tudor Place Historic House and Garden in Georgetown, Washington D.C. Tudor Place is nestled in the hills of Georgetown up by Book Hill Park (an engagement session location favorite) and the luxurious homes Georgetown is known for. It has this old-school charm to it, and it should since it was built in the early 19th century!

Alyssa was so calm as she was getting ready. The only thing she was concerned about was whether Luke was worried about her and her family arriving to Tudor Place on time! Before we all jetted off to the ceremony, Alyssa and her father shared such a sweet first look, and I think it was around that time she realized it was all happening!

The ceremony took place in the Dower House on the northern end of the grounds, which was a stunning 19th century home with gorgeous classic interiors (I swooned and immediately fell in love). Luke was upstairs as we arrived, anxiously awaiting his bride-to-be. He had the kind of nervous excitement that could light up a room! When Alyssa arrived, I reassured her that Luke wasn’t worried at all, just excited to see her and to get married!

As everyone got into place for the ceremony, the room fell silent. Alyssa walked down the stairs with her father and into the ceremony space, and Luke’s jaw dropped! A huge smile came across his face once he saw his bride for the first time, and Alyssa seemed to giggle with glee at finally seeing Luke! This ceremony was incredibly intimate and intentional. There were only 7 people in attendance including the officiant and Alyssa and Luke! Each family member played a huge role in the ceremony by taking part in a ring warming. Each family member held their wedding rings, tied together by a ribbon, and read an excerpt or passage from a meaningful work to Alyssa and Luke. I teared up a little at each one! After the ceremony we took family portraits and bride and groom portraits, and they all left for a dinner reservation in the city! As I’m writing this, they are enjoying their honeymoon in Germany and hopefully soaking up plenty of history, art, and museums!!
