Lucy & TJ Historic Accokeek Maryland Wedding

On June 29, 2019, Lucy and TJ tied the knot in a beautiful historic chapel in the heart of Accokeek farmland. Christ Church Accokeek holds maybe around 150 people maximum between the main floor and the tiny upper balcony, and has no air conditioning system! Instead, rows of stunning windows along the sides of the church open up to let in the most refreshing breeze and tons of natural light. It’s by far one of my favorite little ceremony locations in Southern Maryland because of this! (And that’s not even counting the grounds). Lucy and TJ were surrounded by so many loved ones that their ceremony was literally standing room only (see below!), and a few people even watched through the open windows outside!

The reception was held on TJ’s family farm land about a mile down the road from Christ Church, and it was such a relaxing space. Games of corn hole were taking place outside, next to this stunning renovated VW van serving as a traveling bar! Lucy and TJ had local barbeque catered, and there was a snow cone station just inside the reception tent! Families and friends mingled as one, and it was hard to not walk around the farm with a huge smile on my face!

The forecast called for thunderstorms but weather somehow cooperated with us the whole day (despite it being the usual almost-July weather here in Northern Virginia–AKA hot and humid). It only thunderstormed twice: once while we were all packed into the chapel for the ceremony, and once just after we returned from sunset portraits during the reception! The timing was perfect! I could go on an on about how this day was picture perfect, but without further ado: some highlights from Lucy and TJ’s wedding day!
