There are so many unique places in Northern Virginia to get your engagement pictures taken. Northern Virginia, otherwise known as NOVA, is made up of several independent cities I love to photograph. Some of my favorite sessions/weddings have taken place in the towns of Northern Virginia, and today, I am here to tell you my favorite locations to capture your engagement sessions. If you are a photographer reading this, contact me, and I can tell you all of my hidden gem locations within these locations.
Old Town is a busy, historic district along the Potomac with cobblestone streets and 18th-century townhouses. There are endless food and beverage options along with a farmer market every Saturday ( farmer market engagement session, anyone?).
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens are botanical gardens and an event venue located at 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court in Vienna, Virginia. They have some of the most amazing gardens I have ever seen, and photographing there in the spring and summer is my favorite time.
is a privately owned property situated on the outskirts of the charming town of Middleburg, Virginia. Goodstone is located less than ten minutes from the center of the city and offers numerous. Godstone has an intimate working farm. Godstone is perfect for the couple who loves the outdoors and farm style.
Green Spring Gardens is a public park, including a historic 18th-century house. There are beautiful gardens and ponds on the estate as well.
Sky Meadows State Park is a 1,862-acre park in the Virginia state park system. It is located in extreme northwest Fauquier County, Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sky Meadows reminds me of being out west with the way the pasters meet the mountains!
At Great Falls, the Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge. Great Falls Park offers so many locations for photos; we can head down to one of the ponds or head down to George Washington Parkway.
The Orland E. White Arboretum, also known as the State Arboretum of Virginia, is an arboretum operated by the University of Virginia as part of the Blandy Experimental Farm.
Stone Tower Winery has views for days. The winery is located in Leesburg, Virginia (one of my favorite locations!) and is a family-owned winery. They also host weddings and corporate events.
Airlie has 300 rolling acres in Northern Virginia’s idyllic countryside; Airlie’s next-generation farm sets the table with hyperlocal food straight from the soil and pulled from our pastures. Airlie is most beautiful in the spring, summer, and fall when the flowers are blooming or the trees change.
Manassas National Battlefield Park is a unit of the National Park Service located in Prince William County, Virginia, north of Manassas, that preserves the site of two major American Civil War battles.
I could go on and on about my favorite Northern Virginia engagement sessions. All of these locations listed above have something different to offer! It always amazes me how many locations there are to choose from in Virginia for sessions.
