On October 11, 2019 Shelby and Rad tied the knot with a beautiful ceremony and reception at Festival on 8th in Virginia Beach, Virginia with their closest friends and family! Everything about their wedding day was so personal. You could just tell this day was meant for them! Shelby wore her mother in-law’s vintage wedding dress with a pair of boots, floral veil, and a hat! One of her best friends created a one-of-a-kind, macrame, driftwood wall hanging for her ceremony (straight from her Pinterest board). After their first dance, performed by their family friends, Shelby switched into a white jumpsuit to party the night away. Their pup Sierra even made an appearance for photos!

Shelby and Rad’s love story goes back six years to an oyster roast on the Outer Banks. Who knew that a get-together of family and friends would lead these two to a life-long love? After a night of talking and laughing, Rad conjured up a little white lie to get Shelby to stay at the beach house even longer. As she was making her goodbyes to the group, Rad interrupted and said that his cousin had warned about a police checkpoint and that it would be unsafe for her to head home. He offered to make her a bed on the couch for the evening. Turns out, there wasn’t really a checkpoint!

Rad and Shelby began dating shortly after that fateful night, and they each knew they had found someone special. Their first vacation together was to Del Fest in Cumberland, Maryland. The two of them loaded up the Explorer with camping gear and coolers, not knowing that they were heading to the place where Rad would one day propose to Shelby. The first year at Del Fest, Rad and Shelby fell in love with the mountains, the music, and each other. They spent their time in the meadow under the stars dancing to the sweet bluegrass that filled the air around them. They had the time of their life and promised each other that they would return the following year.

Today, not much has changed other than their love for each other. Rad and Shelby have not missed a Del Fest since the first year they went, and have convinced more friends and family to join them every year.
