French-Inspired Great Falls Wedding | Jennifer & Marouane

On Saturday, October 12, 2019, Jennifer and Marouane tearfully exchanged vows in front of close family and friends with a beautiful French-inspired outdoor wedding on a private estate in Great Falls, Virginia. Jenn planned and executed the entire wedding herself (which was incredibly impressive to see). Amidst getting ready and portraits, Jenn handled the details and logistics with a thorough attention to detail. Even through the chaos, she was always concerned whether her vendors and bridesmaids were having a good time! In contrast, Marouane is so kindhearted and his relaxed demeanor perfectly balanced Jenn in her role as bride AND wedding coordinator. As I witnessed their dynamic and constant support on their wedding day, I knew their love would forever stand the test of time.

Their Love Story

For many couples, marriage holds the odds that love has to battle with. For Jennifer and Marouane, the odds seemed stacked against them from the moment they met. It all started when Jennifer worked as an au pair in Paris, France for a short time. While she was abroad, she met and fell in love with Marouane. They knew they had something special from the beginning and kept dating even when Jenn moved back home to the United States.

For over four years they were committed to each other despite the long distance. They took planes, trains, busses, and subways to meet for only a few short days/weeks at a time. Months passed before they could see each other again. For years they overcame conflicting schedules and unpredictable transportation. It was nothing short of miraculous that they met, and it was nothing short of miraculous that they continued to meet over those four years. When you want an example of true love–fairytale love even–look to Jenn and Marouane.

Throughout the day I kept thinking about ways I could sum up their love. I think Jenn said it best: “The average long distance couple is 125 miles apart and spends 14 months before moving back together. At our greatest distance, we were 5,166 miles apart and we ended our long distance journey on exactly 1,700 days. Find someone who will wait 1,700 days for forever with you.”
